Planned giving, also known as legacy or deferred giving, refers to the type of gift that allows you to support a cause you care for even when you are gone—from a simple bequest to a charitable remainder unitrust. For many donors to Friends of Bassett, their legacy gifts are their largest gifts and provide a tremendous opportunity for Bassett Healthcare Network to invest in our patients and our programs.
Planned giving allows you to make a thoughtful investment in health care and helps you ensure that your gifts will have a lasting impact. In many cases, you can enjoy significant tax benefits. Gifts of cash, appreciated securities, or real properties can be tailored to your specific estate planning needs.
Structuring a bequest or deferred gift requires consideration and planning.
The Friends of Bassett offers the services of a knowledgeable, objective, and qualified professional planned-giving consultant to help those who are interested in making a charitable gift. A planned gift may include:
- Bequests
- Charitable gift annuities
- Gifts of life insurance
- Gifts of stock or appreciated assets
Donors who include Bassett Healthcare Network in a deferred gift plan are gratefully acknowledged through participation in the Cupola Society. The society was established to honor the foresight and generosity of donors who express their faith in Bassett's future through bequests and other planned gifts.
All donors in the Cupola Society receive special recognition, including listings in our Annual Report, and opportunities to participate in special events.
